ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Underground Miner: Entry Level Underground (U/G) Miner position that is designed to progress into a skilled underground Miner. Perform routine heavy physical laborer type duties, operate service equipment while underground.
UNUSUAL WORKING CONDITIONS
Must be able to work any/all shifts and have availability 7 days a week. Extreme conditions, including but not limited to changing weather conditions, dust, mud, varying levels of noise from low to high decibels, varying degrees of light and dark, in and around artificial light and in a confined work area.
EDUCATION: High school diploma or GED required.
CERTIFICATES & LICENSES: Valid Driver's License required. MSHA 5000-23 certificate required. If you are not certified but are interested in a coal career you can get more information on our website. Go to the Job Seekers Tab and Click on Recourses for class certification details.
EXPERIENCE: Experience with operating service equipment trucks or underground equipment.
ABILITIES: Must be able to lift and carry 70 pounds regularly, from floor to chest level without injury. Must have ability to understand operating procedures, safety rules, policies, emergency procedures, and MSHA requirements. Mechanical abilities required. Must have the ability to wear required protective footwear, hearing and eye protection, and other personal protective equipment as required by Company and MSHA.
OTHER: Must pass a post offer physical and drug test, as well as background check.
Inexperienced starting rate $18/hr
Experienced starting rate $20/hr
